Sindh Rangers personnel have arrested two suspects belonging to a gang involved in multiple robbery and street crime incidents in the city.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the arrests were made during an intelligence-based operation in Zia Colony, Orangi Town. The detained suspects were identified as Nauman Khan, son of Zareef Khan, and Zakir Khan, son of Wazir Malik, both associated with the notorious “Basheera gang”.

Authorities recovered two mobile phones and cash from their possession. Initial investigations revealed that the suspects, along with their accomplices, were involved in several robbery and street crime incidents in Zia Colony, Sher Shah, 24 Market, and adjoining localities.

Officials described the arrested individuals as habitual offenders. Zakir Khan is also wanted in a case registered at Malir City police station. The spokesperson added that the suspects were recently involved in a major robbery in which they snatched Rs300,000 from a trader, an incident that was captured on CCTV cameras. Two other members of the gang, including its ringleader Bashir alias Basheera, have already been arrested by police in connection with a petrol pump robbery and are currently in jail. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining members of the gang. The arrested suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.

Rangers have urged citizens to report criminal elements by contacting the nearest Rangers check post, helpline 1101, or WhatsApp, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
