ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court has fixed for hearing an important case concerning the removal of encroachments in Karachi, along with a contempt of court petition filed against Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani in the same matter.
The contempt petition against Saeed Ghani was filed in 2019 over an alleged violation of court orders in the encroachments case. The petition has now been formally scheduled for hearing.
A two-member bench of the Federal Constitutional Court, headed by Justice Aamir Farooq, will hear the case on April 30. The court has issued notices to Saeed Ghani, the advocate general of Sindh, and other relevant officials.
Additionally, notices have also been issued to the director general Rangers, inspector general of the Sindh police, and Karachi’s municipal authorities to appear before the court and present their stance at the next hearing.
