LAHORE: Karachi Kings’ fast bowler Mohammad Hamza has expressed his confidence in his team’s efforts and progress to the playoffs. Talking to media after Karachi Kings’ five-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars, Hamza shared his thoughts expressing his team’s belief, Warner’s brilliance, and their playoff hopes.

Hamza admitted that despite early wickets falling, the team never lost faith as long as David Warner was at the crease. “Absolutely. Even though our wickets fell early on, as long as Warner was at the crease—he is an international star. We have seen such performances from him in the past. We had full trust in him. Along with him, we had Azam Bhai and Khushdil Bhai; they are our strengths. Our plan was to take the game as deep as possible for the team. And AlhamduLillah, that is exactly what happened.”

Warner’s unbeaten 63 and Khushdil Shah’s explosive 44 off 14 balls proved decisive, with Hamza praising their ability to finish the job under pressure. Asked about Lahore’s dropped catches and missed opportunities, Hamza kept his response measured: “Well, that is the fate of the game, sir. What can we say about that?” His remarks highlighted how Karachi capitalized on Lahore’s lapses to maintain momentum in the chase. Hamza expressed optimism about Karachi’s chances of qualifying for the final four. “Sir, we are completely hopeful. The stage is wide open now; the group standings are such that it’s not like we don’t have a chance. Insha’Allah, we will defeat Quetta in the next match with a good run rate and hopefully qualify.”
