Islamabad: Centrum Air, Uzbekistan’s fastest-growing and largest private airline, Tuesday announced the launch of its new direct service between Lahore and Tashkent.

According to it, the route will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays, utilising modern Airbus A320 aircraft, offering passengers a reliable and efficient connection between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, as well as access to an expanding international network.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, founder and CEO of Centrum Air, said the launch of the Lahore–Tashkent route reflected the airline’s broader ambition to enhance regional connectivity and offer passengers more efficient travel options across its network.

“With this new route, Centrum Air continues to expand its network and reinforce its position as a dynamic and reliable carrier connecting Central Asia with key global destinations,” he said. Abdurakhmanov said the Lahore-Tashkent route was expected to generate strong point-to-point demand, particularly from organised travel groups, as Uzbekistan continues to grow in popularity among Pakistani travelers.

He said Uzbekistan, known for rich cultural heritage and historical significance, was home to iconic destinations such as Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, which were increasingly attracting visitors from Pakistan.

“Passengers will also benefit from onward connections via Tashkent to key international destinations such as Frankfurt, Guangzhou, Moscow, St. Petersburg and multiple cities across Southeast Asia, positioning Tashkent as an increasingly attractive transit hub for regional and intercontinental travel,” he said.

Arshad Wali Muhammad, Group Director of Gerry’s Group, the partner of the airline in Pakistan, said through the launch of Centrum Air in Pakistan, his organisation aimed to expand travel opportunities and promote stronger economic and cultural ties between the two nations by offering convenient and cost-effective air connectivity.
