Rawalpindi: A three-day deep cleaning campaign was underway across all tehsils of Rawalpindi Division under the "Clean Punjab Programme", aimed at ensuring comprehensive sanitation and a zero-waste system in both urban and rural areas.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, Rana Sajid Safdar, said steps were taken to achieve zero-waste targets across the division.
He said the objective of the campaign was not only immediate cleanliness but also to lay the foundation for a sustainable and improved environment. During the operation, sanitation teams were clearing waste and cleaning cemeteries, bus stands, parks, main and internal roads, streets, waste containers and open plots.
The CEO said the drive had been carried out in areas including Rawat, GT Road, Adiala Road, Chakri Road and Chakri Adda under a zero-waste strategy, leading to a marked improvement in cleanliness.
