Islamabad:The District Health Office Islamabad organised a dengue awareness walk as part of its ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of dengue and promote public awareness. The walk witnessed active participation from individuals belonging to various walks of life and was led by District Health Officer Islamabad, Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool.
During the activity, participants were educated about dengue prevention, the importance of adopting precautionary measures, and maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. Through community engagement initiatives, key messages were effectively conveyed to the public to enhance awareness and encourage responsible behavior.
In continuation of these efforts, the District Health Office Islamabad has formally intensified dengue surveillance and control activities across the city to ensure timely interventions and effective prevention of the disease Dengue Fever.
The general public is urged to adopt preventive measures and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the health department to curb the spread of dengue. Citizens are advised not to allow stagnant water to accumulate in or around their homes and to clean water containers regularly. Wearing full-sleeved clothing can help minimize exposure to mosquito bites, while the use of mosquito repellents such as sprays or lotions is strongly recommended. Additionally, ensuring the use of mosquito nets and installing window screens can provide an added layer of protection.
