The Sindh High Court has dismissed two judicial officers from service over misconduct and inefficiency while a penalty of withholding promotion for a period of five years was imposed on two other judicial officers.
An authorized officer of the high court had issued show-cause notices to a then civil judge and judicial magistrate of Mirpurkhas and a civil judge and judicial magistrate of District East over misconduct and inefficiency under Rule 6(1) of Sindh Civil Servants (efficiency & Discipline) Rules 1973.
The authorized officer had also issued show-cause notices to a then civil judge and judicial magistrate of District East and a then additional district and sessions judge of Shikarpur on ground of misconduct.
According to the order, the judicial officers were provided an opportunity of hearing before the authorized officer, who examined the facts and after perusal of evidence found them guilty of misconduct and inefficiency.
SHC Chief Justice Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput also provided an opportunity of hearing in the final show-cause notice and scrutinizing the entire case decided to impose a major penalty of dismissal from service on then civil judge and judicial magistrates Zahid Hussain Megheri and Niaz Hussain Mastoi.
The chief justice also decided to imposed a minor penalty of “withholding of promotion for period of five years, whenever it is due” on civil judge and judicial magistrate Zeeshan Khan Maka and additional district and sessions judge Nizakat Ali.
