Islamabad : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international migration governance and border security during the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Migration Partnership Facility, held in Brussels on April 14-15.

Representing Pakistan at the high-level gathering, Director FIA Balochistan Zone, Muhammad Behram Khan, joined global stakeholders to discuss the evolving dynamics of human mobility under the theme “Enabling Partnerships and Innovation: A Decade of the Migration Partnership Facility,” an FIA Headquarters spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Speaking during a panel session titled “Looking Ahead: Migration Management in a Fast-Changing World,” Khan highlighted key institutional advancements made by the FIA in recent years. He underscored the success of the Agency’s Risk Analysis initiative as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s practical experience and emphasized continued efforts to enhance operational cooperation with the European Union, its member states, and affiliated agencies to tackle emerging migration challenges.

The session, moderated by Christelle Wickened, brought together leading international experts, including Krzysztof Nowaczek, Julio Vijande Rivera, and Hugo Rickberg. The panel explored collaborative approaches to border management and the protection of displaced populations amid a rapidly changing global environment.

FIA’s participation reflects its broader strategy of working with international partners to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration. By aligning with global standards, the Agency continues to advance shared goals related to effective migration governance and the protection of vulnerable individuals.

Funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, the Migration Partnership Facility has played a key role in fostering practical cooperation over the past decade. In Pakistan, the initiative has supported major projects such as RAPAK I and RAPAK II, contributing to nearly 100 successful programs delivered under the facility.
