RAWALPINDI: The security forces have killed two Khwarij, including a wanted ring leader, in Bannu District. On Sunday, an Intelligence Based Operation IBO) was conducted in Bannu on reported presence of Khwarij, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
After an intense exchange of fire, two Khwarij, belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khwarij, including Khwarij Ring leader Waheedullah alias Muktiar along with a suicide bomber were gunned down. A suicide jacket, weapons and ammunition were also recovered.
Waheedullah was among the most wanted terrorist for his active involvement in numerous terrorist activities, including the killing of security forces personnel and innocent civilians. He was also main handler of a suicide bomber in Bannu District on February 21 last year resulting in the martyrdom of Lieutenant Colonel Gul Faraz. The operation has indeed avenged the heinous act and has brought the main perpetrator to justice.
Timely action of security forces also averted a major catastrophe. Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Khwarij found in the area.
