Islamabad: As persistent weaknesses in foundational literacy and numeracy, teacher capacity and lack of curriculum alignment continue to limit student achievements and contribute towards learning poverty in Islamabad, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and the Federal Directorate of Education have launched the Roadmap for Quality Education and Innovation.

Developed with inputs from key stakeholders and education experts, the roadmap will act as a guide to transition from fragmented initiatives to a coherent, outcome-based structured framework, according to officials.

They said the roadmap was built around five pillars, including Policy and Governance; Improving Student Learning Outcomes; Enabling Learning Environment and Resource Equity; Professional Development for Teachers, and Enhancing Digital and Innovative Learning. The officials said work on the roadmap had been initiated as a significant and decisive step towards improving the quality of education across public schools in Islamabad.
