An 18-year-old girl, who was the daughter of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) MNA, died under mysterious circumstances in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area in the late hours of Saturday, prompting a police investigation.

According to police officials, the death occurred inside a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7, where the victim, identified as Mahnoor, sustained a critical head injury on Saturday night. She was rushed to a private hospital where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Sunday. SHO Muhammad Saud said the deceased was a medical student and daughter of MQM-P MNA Iqbal Mehsud.

The officer added that the family initially informed police that Mahnoor had fallen from the stairs at home and suffered a severe head injury. She was subsequently admitted to the Patel Hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

However, during the preliminary inquiry, police discovered that the death was caused by a bullet wound in the head. The family later termed it a case of a stray bullet and declined to pursue legal action. However, despite the family’s stance, police have termed the case suspicious and began investigations to ascertain the actual circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.
