A man allegedly killed his former wife and two sons in Baldia Town’s Saeedabad area on the night between Saturday and Sunday.
The incident took place in a house on Street No 6 of Saeedabad Naval Colony. The bodies were discovered by neighbours who informed the police. When a police team arrived, they found the bodies of a woman and her two young sons inside the house. The woman was identified as Samia, around 35 years old, and her sons as 14-year-old Shamroz and 12-year-old Mehroz.
According to initial reports, Samia had been living alone with her children after separating from her former husband Shaukat. Originally from Bahawalpur, she had been raising her sons alone.
Her cousin Fahad informed the police that relations between Samia and her former husband had been tense. The police immediately sealed the area and called in a forensic team that collected evidence.
Police said CCTV footage of the surrounding streets was being reviewed, and advanced techniques like geo-fencing were set in motion to trace movements around the time of the incident.
Keamari SSP Faizan Ali also visited the house. A special team led by the local DSP and SHO was formed to identify and arrest the culprits. Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar also took notice of the incident and sought report from the Keamari SSP. Lanjar said initial reports were extremely sad and heartbreaking. The accused should be brought to justice at all costs, he added.
