The Sindh Rangers arrested two men allegedly linked to the Cheetah Gang during an operation in Korangi, officials said on Thursday. The suspects were identified as Hussain, the alleged gang leader, and Abdul Wahid.
A Rangers spokesperson said the suspects were involved in multiple cases of robbery and street crime across Korangi and the adjoining areas. The Rangers also impounded a motorbike without documents, and seized three phones, a fake government-issued card, a private security company belt and cash.
Initial investigations revealed that Hussain used to impersonate a security official to evade arrest, while Wahid had been involved in selling stolen and snatched items. The suspects also allegedly admitted to their involvement in over 100 incidents of robbery, motorbike theft and mobile snatching.
Several FIRs were already registered against them at different police stations. The suspects and the seized items have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings, while raids are under way to arrest other members of the gang.
