RAWALPINDI: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (Rawalpindi bench) comprising Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf has dismissed an intra-court appeal filed against the decision to privatize the national airline.
The petitioner, Sardar Amber Raj, had filed the appeal against the decision of a single bench through Advocate Nazakat Hussain. The court expressed its displeasure over the absence of the petitioner during the hearing and ruled how a citizen whose fundamental rights were not being affected could file such an application, to which the petitioner’s lawyer said he was ill and therefore could not appear in court. However, the court ruled that since the privatization process had been completed, it was not appropriate to file such an application at this time. Then the court dismissed the appeal.
