Sindh Rangers, acting on intelligence, arrested two suspects belonging to the “Amri Gang” allegedly involved in multiple robbery and street crime incidents in the Steel Town area of Karachi.
The suspects were identified as Ali, son of Mureed, and Wajid Ali alias Waja, son of Ayub. Rangers officials also recovered a motorcycle without documents, a mobile phone, and cash from their possession.
The suspects, along with their accomplices, were involved in several incidents of snatching motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash at gunpoint in Steel Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, and adjoining areas.
During initial interrogation, Ali revealed that he had previously possessed an unlicensed 30-bore pistol, which he sold to a close associate for Rs15,000.
Wajid Ali was allegedly not only involved in robbery activities but also provided information to other gang members regarding potential targets carrying cash or motorcycles.
Rangers officials said raids are being conducted to arrest other members of the gang. The arrested suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
A Rangers spokesperson urged the public to report criminal elements to the nearest Rangers check post, Rangers helpline 1101, or via WhatsApp, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept confidential
