LAHORE:Dry and hot weather was recorded in the provincial capital on Wednesday while Met office predicted scattered rain during the next 24 hours.

Met officials predicted that there was a possibility of rain in the city from Thursday (today) till April 18, due to which the intensity of heat will decrease significantly as a new wave of westerly winds entered the northwestern regions of the country.

The average AQI of the city was 79, which fell in the category of moderate while the PM2.5 concentration was 3.8 times the World Health Organisation (WHO) annual PM2.5 guideline value. Met officials said the maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 28C while the humidity in the air was 30 percent and winds speed was 5 kilometers per hour. They said there was a possibility of intermittent rain with strong winds and gusty winds in Lahore during the above mention dates and instructed citizens to take precautionary measures.
