Two people were killed in separate accidents in Karachi. In the first accident, a speeding Mazda truck hit a motorbike near Hub River Road in Baldia Town within the limits of the Saeedabad police station, killing Imran Ghulam Hussain, 71, on the spot.
Ali Jan, 53, suffered serious injuries in the incident. Both victims, residents of Musharraf Colony, were on their way to work at a private factory. The injured was taken to Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, while the truck driver was arrested.
In another accident, Abdul Majeed, 40, was killed after being hit by a speeding truck near the Ibrahim Hyderi Fish Harbour. The victim, a resident of Chashma Goth, was crossing the road when the accident occurred. Fishermen present at the scene caught the driver and handed him over to police.
A day earlier, two women were killed after a dumper truck rammed into the motorbike they were travelling on with their brother near Nazimabad No. 1, police said. Rescue teams took the injured to a nearby hospital, but both women succumbed to their injuries before they could be provided medical treatment. Police identified the deceased as Easter and Angel.
Labourer dies
Labourer Safdar Iqbal, 28, died after falling off the roof of an under-construction building in North Nazimabad Block N. His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
