KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam has vowed to carry forward his team’s winning momentum, stressing the importance of adapting to conditions after their 24-run victory over Multan Sultans.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Babar said it is always enjoyable when the team performs well, adding that players must adjust their approach according to different match situations and positions.
He noted that modern cricket has become much faster, with even red-ball cricket now being played at a higher tempo. Praising young spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, Babar said the bowler has a bright future ahead given his current form. On leading the side, he remarked that if a trophy is destined for him as captain, he will eventually achieve it.
Under Babar’s leadership, Peshawar Zalmi have won five out of their six matches so far, with one game against Islamabad United washed out due to rain. The team currently sits at the top of the points table with 11 points.
