LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has unveiled new management and coaching panels for the national senior and junior teams, following approval from the PHF ad hoc president.

Olympian Manzoor-ul-Hassan has been appointed as the head coach of the national senior team. He will be supported by an experienced panel comprising Khawaja Junaid, Wasim Ahmed, and Shakeel Abbasi, all of whom bring international pedigree and tactical expertise.

For the junior side, Ayaz Mahmood takes charge as head coach, assisted by Sameer Hussain, Azfar Yaqoob, and Imran Butt. The panel is expected to focus on grooming young players and preparing them for the transition to senior-level hockey.

The PHF emphasised that these appointments are part of a broader plan to revitalize Pakistan hockey, ensuring that each age group benefits from specialized coaching and modern training methods. By aligning experienced Olympians with youth development, the federation aims to rebuild competitiveness and restore Pakistan’s standing in world hockey.

“This restructuring marks a significant step in the federation’s efforts to create a sustainable hockey ecosystem, where talent identification, skill development, and performance enhancement are prioritised across all tiers,” said PHF.
