ISLAMABAD: Tehreek Tahaffuz Aiyeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) Monday dispelled media reports of differences within the opposition alliance, saying the jailed founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had full confidence in the leadership of Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas.

Spokesman Akhunzada Hussain, reacting to some media reports, noted that some quarters are broadcasting news contrary to the facts, which have nothing to do with reality. Achakzai, who was nominated by the PTI founder chairman, heads the TTAP and is leader of the opposition in the National Assembly. Likewise, Imran had named Allama Nasir for the slot of Leader of Opposition in the Senate.

The spokesman clarified that PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja told him that Barrister Salman Safdar had informed him that Imran Khan had expressed full confidence in the leadership of the TTAP and that he was completely stands with them.

Referring to a statement of founding chairman in this regard, he said Imran Khan had also clearly said that Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas were brave and courageous comrades, who stand firm for the supremacy of the constitution and law, and he had full confidence in them.

The spokesman stressed that the opposition alliance was united in its stance and the rumours spread against the leadership were baseless. He appealed to the media for responsible reporting and said that providing accurate and credible information to the public was a need of the hour.

Separately, Balochistan National Party Senior Vice President Sajid Tareen Advocate met Imaan Mazari’s mother, former minister Shireen Mazari, here. Akhunzada Hussain and others were also present.

In the meeting, Sajid Tareen said the only crime of Advocate Imaan Mazari and Advocate Hadi Ali is that they raised their voices for the oppressed. He also conveyed the message of BNP chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal that his party and the people of Balochistan stand with Imaan and Advocate Hadi in this hour of difficulty.

Sajid Tareen said “we will continue to raise our voices in and outside the courts against the bogus cases filed against both of them”. Shireen Mazari thanked Sajid Tareen and Akhunzada Hussain for supporting her in this hour of difficulty.
