Foreign players dominate day one of ITF Tennis

ISLAMABAD: Foreign players dominated the opening day of the Subh-e-Nau ITF Pakistan Junior International Tennis Championship (Leg-II) that commenced at the PTF Tennis Complex on Monday.

A total of 22 boys and 19 girls from Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Thailand are participating in the championship. Mrs Shahida Kausar Farooq of Subh-e-Nau inaugurated the Championship.

Highlighting Subh-e-Nau’s commitment to youth development, she said the organisation has been promoting tennis and other youth activities for over three decades. “The ITF Juniors event provides a great opportunity for Pakistan’s young players to compete with top international talent at home,” she added.
