Maryam welcomes US-Iran ceasefire

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir for their sincere and unparalleled efforts towards global peace.

She said Allah Almighty has chosen Pakistan for the establishment of peace, and no amount of gratitude will be sufficient. Pakistan’s sincere and historic efforts for peace in the region and the world have made the impossible possible.

The leadership of the United States, Iran and all Islamic countries deserve congratulations, whose efforts have brought peace to billions of people. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir have saved the world from a third world war. Pakistan, emerging after the “Battle for Truth”, has become a central force for peace in the world.

She hoped that Pakistan’s sincere efforts will lead to lasting peace and that conflicts will be resolved through dialogue. She concluded that in the history of global peace, the names of Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar and Asim Munir will be written in golden words.

Expressing optimism, Maryam said ongoing efforts for peace negotiations within Pakistan will also reach a successful conclusion. She emphasized that Pakistan’s contributions towards global peace and preservation of civilizations will always be remembered.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over the demise of Member of Provincial Assembly Ali Hussain Baloch. She conveyed her condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
