Three die, 26 hurt as bus overturns on M-3

NANKANA SAHIB: Three people were killed and 26 others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident near a rest area on Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3) on Wednesday morning.

According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the bus was travelling from Alipur to Lahore when the driver reportedly dozed off, causing the vehicle to lose control and overturn. Rescue teams rushed to the scene with 10 emergency vehicles and immediately launched relief operations. The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital after initial first aid. The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately. Rescue officials said several women and children were among the injured. The injured were identified as Dua Fatima (14), Ataullah (33), Majid (30), Kamran (35), Ali Hamza (18), Asif (28), Ilyas (25), Shah Zain (8), Muhammad Rashid (30), Sher Khan (40), Muhammad Hasnain (16), Saidan Bibi (55), Muhammad Fahad (22), Aisha (12), Zain (14), Muhammad Nazim (25), Rafi Bibi (45), Shaher (16), Tariq (30), Ghulam Haider (50), Muhammad Waseem (19), Mudassar (18), Zeeshan (26), Aamir (25), Hassan (12), and Zahid (26).

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao and District Emergency Officer Muhammad Akram Panwar also reached the site, supervised rescue efforts and directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.
