A sessions court has granted pre-arrest bail to PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh in a rioting case. Shaikh, along with other PTI leaders and workers, was booked in a rioting case by the Artillery Maidan police after they staged a protest near the

Karachi Press Club against the recent increase in diesel and petrol prices. The additional sessions judge (South) granted interim pre-arrest bail to Shaikh against a surety of Rs10,000, according to PTI lawyer Shujaat Ali Khan. The court directed the PTI leader to join the investigation.

Earlier, a judicial magistrate had granted bail to party leaders Dawa Khan Sabir, Alamgir Khan, Advocate Khalid Mahmood and Miraj Shah, as well as 20 party workers, who were arrested during the protest on Sunday. The four leaders could not be released immediately after being granted bail as they were arrested in a rioting case lodged under the terrorism law last year.
