LAHORE: The Zimbabwe women’s cricket team is set to tour Pakistan later this month, marking a significant milestone in women’s cricket development. The tour will feature three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 matches, all scheduled to be played in Karachi starting in the first week of May.

The three ODIs will carry added importance as they form part of the ICC Women’s Championship, which serves as the qualification pathway to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2029. This series will be Zimbabwe’s first-ever participation in the Championship, making it a landmark occasion for their women’s cricket program.

Currently, Pakistan is ranked 8th in the standings, while Zimbabwe sits at 11th, meaning both sides will be eager to secure valuable points to strengthen their positions in the long-term race toward World Cup qualification.

For Pakistan, the series represents an opportunity to consolidate their progress in women’s cricket, especially after recent efforts to expand the domestic structure and provide more international exposure. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will look to test their skills against a higher-ranked opponent and gain experience in competitive conditions.

Sources have confirmed that the exact dates are being finalized, with an official announcement expected soon. The series is anticipated to draw strong interest from fans and stakeholders, given its dual significance as both a competitive contest and a developmental milestone for women’s cricket in both nations.

“The Zimbabwe women’s tour of Pakistan is more than just a bilateral series—it is a step forward in strengthening the global women’s cricket calendar, offering both teams a chance to grow, compete, and inspire the next generation of female cricketers,” said an official.
