LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set a target for the early completion of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research

According to a handout, she directing that construction work be carried out in three shifts to expedite progress. She issued these directions during a virtual visit and digital tour of the facility, where she reviewed various departments of the hospital in detail.

During the visit, Maryam Nawaz inspected key areas including the main entrance hall, radiology department, mammography suite, CT scan room, radiology therapy unit, treatment planning room, simulator, and other state-of-the-art facilities such as the seating area and AHU room. She emphasised the importance of ensuring top-quality healthcare infrastructure for cancer patients.

Maryam Nawaz also directed that highly qualified professionals be appointed to key positions including the dean, director, and other administrative roles to ensure excellence in service delivery. It was further informed that 219 positions have already been advertised, with 32 candidates selected, while approval has been granted for 415 additional posts, which will be advertised next week.

Maryam Nawaz reiterated her commitment to strengthening healthcare facilities in Punjab and ensuring timely completion of critical medical projects for the benefit of patients across the province.
