ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed Lt (retd) Sohail Ashraf, a BS-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service and the current Islamabad chief commissioner, as the new chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Lieutenant (retd) Sohail Ashraf will continue to perform his duties as chief commissioner while simultaneously holding the additional charge of CDA chairman.
Sohail Ashraf formally assumed charge of his new responsibilities on Monday. Following his assumption of office, he held an introductory meeting with senior officials, including members of the CDA Board, to review ongoing projects and discuss administrative priorities.
During the meeting, he emphasized the need for timely completion of all development projects, stressing that delays must be avoided so that citizens can benefit from improved infrastructure and public services at the earliest. He underscored the importance of efficiency, transparency, and accountability in executing development initiatives across the capital.
