Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, arrested two suspects belonging to the “Raju Gang” during an intelligence-based operation in the 89 Mor area of Quaidabad, a Rangers spokesperson said on Monday.
The arrested suspects were identified as Shah Mir Rashid alias Mir, son of Abdul Rasheed, and Mohammad Owais, son of Ghareeb Nawaz. Weapons and other items, including a licensed 9mm pistol, a magazine, 13 rounds, two mobile phones, and cash, were recovered from their possession.
According to officials, the suspects, along with their accomplices, were involved in multiple incidents of robbery, street crime, and motorcycle snatching in areas including Shah Latif Town, Sherpao Colony, Quaidabad, and adjoining localities.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to looting over Rs5 million in various robberies. They also revealed that stolen mobile phones and motorcycles were sold at low prices. The suspects further disclosed that other members of the gang are also involved in the sale and purchase of narcotics in the area.
The police records show that multiple FIRs were already registered against Shah Mir Rashid at different police stations. Rangers officials said raids were underway to arrest other members of the gang. The arrested suspects, along with the recovered weapons and items, had been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
The Rangers have urged citizens to report criminal elements to the nearest Rangers check post, helpline 1101, or via WhatsApp, assuring that informants’ identities will be kept confidential.
