Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who is also the chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, attended as the chief guest the closing ceremony of a teachers training programme held at the auditorium of Nazeer Hussain University on Monday.
The training was organised under the Directorate General of Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) for teachers of 100 newly established schools. In his address, the Siddiqui said education was the key to a strong, prosperous and developed Pakistan.
He emphasised that teacher training was essential to align the new generation with modern requirements and highlighted that coordinated efforts were being made across the country to promote education.
The federal education minister noted that approximately 25 million children in Pakistan were out of school making an educational emergency the need of the hour. Appreciating the dedication of teachers, he said they were the architects of the nation, and their hard work was vital for strengthening the education system.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, shields and honorary gifts were distributed among the teachers who successfully completed the training. Nazeer Hussain University Chancellor Engineer Farhat Khan, MPA Adil Askari, university officials and education experts were also present on the occasion.
