BUREWALA: The Christian community marked Easter with religious devotion across Vehari district, including Burewala and Mailsi, holding special prayers and gatherings in churches.
Worshippers attended early morning services, offering prayers for peace, prosperity, and harmony, while religious leaders highlighted the message of hope, sacrifice, and resurrection associated with Easter. The celebrations concluded in a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.
Vehari Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya visited churches in Burewala to review arrangements for cleanliness, security, and other facilities ahead of Easter. Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, he said comprehensive measures were taken to facilitate celebrations. “Easter brings a message of joy and happiness for the Christian community. Their contributions to national development are commendable, and minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights,” he added.
Security around churches and Christian worship places was heightened to ensure peaceful religious rituals under DPO Tassawar Iqbal. Assistant Commissioner Burewala Jawad Hussain Malik was also present.
PAKPATTAN: The Christian community in Pakpattan and across the Sahiwal Division celebrated Easter with religious enthusiasm, holding special prayers and gatherings at churches. On the occasion, Sahiwal RPO Muhammad Ayaz Saleem visited St Patrick’s and the Catholic Church in Sahiwal to review security and facilities. Church administrators expressed gratitude for the high-alert security arrangements, which allowed worshippers to perform their rituals peacefully. RPO Muhammad Ayaz Saleem emphasised that the protection of minorities remains a key priority under the vision of the Punjab government.
