BARA/SWABI: Four persons were killed in separate roof-collapse incidents in Khyber and Swabi districts on Sunday.
In Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal district, two women were killed and two children injured when the roof of a house collapsed, official and local sources said.They said that the family of Qazi Rehman Afridi was asleep in their home in Chura area when the roof collapsed, killing two women instantly and injuring two children.
The rescue teams and local residents rushed to the scene and shifted the injured and the deceased to Dogra Hospital for treatment and postmortem.In Swabi, two persons, including a 12-year old boy, were killed and three others injured when the roof of a mud-house collapsed in the Suno Banda area of Urmal Dheri Village Council in Yar Hussain tehsil.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Luqman Khan, rescue teams reached the site immediately after receiving the information and retrieved the victims trapped under the debris. The injured were provided with first aid and later shifted to Kalu Khan Hospital and Bacha Khan Medical Complex, where they are receiving treatment.A local resident, Raza Khan, said that the house belonged to Sajjad and its dilapidated roof had weakened due to recent rains.
