Four LGH employees caught stealing medicines: AMC principal orders audit of all medicines available within hospital inventory to expose any further discrepancies

LAHORE:Lahore General Hospital (LGH) administration has caught a pharmacy technician and his three accomplice’s red-handed stealing government medicines.

On a complaint lodged by Emergency DMS Dr Muhammad Shahid, the Kot Lakhpat Police has registered a case against accused Arslan, Ramazan, Faizan Farooq and Bilal and initiated investigation. Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Principal Prof Dr Muhammad Farooq Afzal took notice of the incident and ordered an audit of all medicines available within the hospital inventory to immediately expose any further discrepancies. LGH MS Prof Dr Faryad Hussain stated that the duty rosters of the arrested employees have been summoned, adding if the investigation reveals the involvement of any other staff members, they will face strict legal action.

The hospital administration has requested a merit-based investigation and directed its legal adviser to maintain constant liaison with the police to ensure effective prosecution. The MS reiterated that the administration remains committed to providing high-quality medical facilities and will maintain zero tolerance for any form of corruption or negligence.
