LAHORE:The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Lahore, has drawn government's attention towards dilapidated roads on the premises of district and teaching hospitals as large potholes have appeared at multiple locations, causing serious difficulties in patient movement within hospital premises.

Several incidents have been reported where stretchers and wheelchairs got stuck in these potholes, resulting in patients falling onto the roads and suffering further injury and distress. While expressing grave concern over this alarming situation, PMA Lahore, President Prof Dr Shahid Malik stated that the poor condition of internal hospital roads has become a major source of hardship for patients, attendants, and healthcare staff alike.

Prof Dr Shahid Malik urged the LDA DG, Secretary C&W, DC and all relevant authorities across Punjab to initiate patchwork and repair of internal roads in all district and teaching hospitals. This is essential to ensure the safe and smooth transfer of patients between wards, prevent unnecessary jolts, and avoid damage to stretchers and wheelchairs.
