LAHORE : The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has discarded 1,300 kilograms of dead chickens and lodged two FIRs against suspects involved in food forgery during ongoing operations against the adulteration mafia.

According to a spokesperson, enforcement teams carried out multiple actions on the directions of DG M Asim Javaid to ensure the provision of safe food, which is considered a fundamental right of every citizen.

During the operations, food safety teams also confiscated 1,920 liters of fake cold drinks, filling machines, a supplier vehicle, 780 bottles, and other related materials used in illegal production activities.

Officials recovered dead chickens from a supplier vehicle (No.SAC-4666) at Ghazi Phatak Bypass, which were reportedly being transported for supply in local markets.

In a separate raid, a fake beverage manufacturing unit was uncovered in Wahga Town, where counterfeit labels, caps, raw materials, and finished products were seized.
