Police have yet to recover cash, gold stolen from shop

LAHORE : Masti Gate Investigation Police have allegedly failed to recover stolen cash and gold ornaments worth Rs15 million despite the lapse of almost a month.

The complainant has appealed to the DIG Investigation for the recovery of his valuables.

A theft case was registered by Masti Gate Police on the complaint of a citizen, Arif, of Gulberg.

He said he owned a cloth shop in Punjab Block, Quaid-e-Azam Cloth Market. According to the FIR, the incident occurred on March 11, 2026, at approximately 5:50pm, when an unidentified suspect broke the locks of the shop and entered inside. The suspect broke open a safe and stole cash amounting to Rs150,000 along with gold ornaments weighing approximately 25 tolas.

The estimated value of the stolen gold has been stated as Rs13,575,000. Police officials said the matter has been taken up for investigation.
