De-escalation

I wish to draw urgent attention to the prevailing crisis in Israel and Palestine, where ongoing strikes, escalating casualties and widespread devastation continue to inflict profound suffering upon innocent civilians. Displacement, insecurity and humanitarian distress have become an enduring reality. Simultaneously, the intensifying conflict involving Iran and the US and Israel has significantly exacerbated regional instability, raising grave concerns of an even broader and more destructive conflict.

In this context, the UN appears constrained by geopolitical divisions, limiting its capacity to implement decisive measures or enforce meaningful ceasefires. There is an imperative need for immediate de-escalation, credible diplomacy and collective international responsibility. Without timely and resolute action, the risk of further humanitarian catastrophe and prolonged instability will only intensify.
