TIMERGARA: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Malik Shafiullah Khan on Friday condemned the increase in prices of petroleum products.
Addressing a news conference at the Timergara Press Club, he criticized the federal government for what he termed an unjustified increase in the prices of petroleum products.Malik Shafiullah said the federal government had set a new record of “cruelty” by sharply raising petroleum prices overnight.
He warned that the increase would place an immense financial burden on the people, triggering another wave of inflation across the country. “The government is using international market trends as an excuse to exploit the public, while its own extravagance and incompetence remain unchecked,” he added. Taking a swipe at political opponents, he remarked that during the tenure of former prime minister Imran Khan, opposition parties would stage protest marches towards Islamabad even if fuel prices increased by just two rupees.
