This refers to the letter ‘Online education’ (March 25, 2026) by Prof Muhammad Fayyaz. Online education is necessary only in case of extremely critical conditions in the country. Many middle- and lower-income families struggle to afford the digital access that enables online education. Traditional brick-and-mortar educational institutions, where in-person interaction with other students and teachers is mandatory, still remains the best way to learn. In my opinion, work from home is also an inferior option as one cannot create an office like atmosphere at home and has to face tremendous disturbances due to home activities like child care.
