HARIPUR: Like other parts of KP the workers of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Haripur, Khanpur and Ghazi have here on Thursday staged a protest against delay in disbursement of salaries and pension.
The protest call was given by the provincial chapter of Local Government Employees Federation.They suspended their routine services temporarily and gathered outside the TMA office carrying placards inscribed with their demands of early payment of salaries and pension.
They said that for the last over five years the provincial government surprisingly chose to address the issue on an ad hoc basis rather than finding a permanent solution. “It’s now a routine practice that after every six months the TMA workers get their salaries and pensions delayed”, said one of the protesting daily wagers adding that this time around too their salaries have been stuck.
