LAHORE:The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) on Thursday hosted newly-appointed Chinese Consul General Sun Yan at its office in a landmark engagement underscoring the enduring and ever-strengthening economic partnership between Pakistan and China.

Chief Executive Officer, PBIT, Zeeshan Shabbir Rana reaffirmed Punjab’s commitment to fostering a facilitative and investor-centric ecosystem for Chinese enterprises. During the meeting, the PBIT CEO delivered a briefing on the vast investment opportunities available in the province. Both sides reiterated their unwavering resolve to deepen bilateral cooperation and ensure the continued success of strategic initiatives. The discussions emphasised Punjab’s pivotal role as the economic nucleus of Pakistan and a cornerstone in advancing Pak-China economic collaboration. Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Sun Yan highlighted that Punjab occupies a central and indispensable position in strengthening economic ties between the two nations. He underscored that the presence and potential relocation of Chinese manufacturing enterprises to Punjab would serve as a catalyst for industrial growth.
