KARACHI: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has taken back its decision of declaring the top under-14 player overage after getting reprimanded by Pakistan Sports Board.

It has been learnt that PTF not only allowed M Junaid Khan to participate in trials but also selected him in the national 14 & under Boys Team to represent the country in an international event.

According to the press release from PTF, the trials were held at the PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad from March 25-27 where a total of nine top-ranked junior players were invited to participate based on their national rankings.

“The following players have been selected to represent Pakistan in the ITF World Junior Tennis Tour, scheduled to be held in Kuching, Malaysia, from 26th April to 3rd May 2026. “[The players are] M Shayan Afridi, Rashid Ali Bachani, M Junaid Khan, and M Muaz (Reserve). The President PTF, Secretary General PTF, and the entire PTF Management congratulated the selected players on their achievement and extended their best wishes for success in the upcoming international event,” stated the press release. Earlier, Pakistan’s number one under-14 tennis player Junaid Khan was denied entry into the PSO International Tennis Championship in Karachi in February for being overage.
