While the world moves towards faster and smarter logistics, overseas parcel deliveries from Pakistan continue to lag behind. Recently, we sent an Eid parcel abroad to my brother, hoping it would reach him in time for the occasion. However, despite sending it well in advance, the package has still not been delivered, as of writing. This has been quite worrying for our family, as we kept checking for updates but received little clarity about its status. Unfortunately, this is not just a one-time issue. Many people in Pakistan face similar problems when sending parcels overseas.
Delays at different stages, weak tracking systems and poor coordination in transit often result in late or missing deliveries. Such situations not only cause financial loss but also take away the joy of sharing important moments with loved ones. There is a need for better courier services and for the concerned authorities to improve customs procedures, introduce more reliable tracking systems and ensure responsibility for delayed shipments.
