LAHORE:A rank-pinning ceremony for officers promoted to the rank of DSP was held at the Central Police Office. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem pinned DSP ranks on 18 promoted police officers.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that a large number of parents, children and family members of the promoted officers attended the ceremony. IG Punjab directed the promoted officers to perform their duties with greater hard work, honesty and professional dedication.
He said that, in view of the government’s austerity campaign, only the promoted officers belonging to Lahore were invited to the ceremony, while other officers will be awarded ranks in their respective regions by RPOs and senior officers.
IG Punjab said that the positive tradition of rank-pinning initiated during the tenure of former IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar will be continued. He further said that due to the outstanding performance of the Crime Control Department (CCD), there has been a clear reduction in crime and the sense of security among citizens has further strengthened.
