LAHORE:District administration claimed significant reduction in the prices of 23 essential commodities over the past 24 hours.

Officials said besides this major achievement, the administration successfully maintained the price of potatoes at a stable level of Rs20 per kilogram for the fourth consecutive day and tomatoes at Rs65 per kilogram.

This downward price trend was made possible by robust supplies, with the arrival of 136 trucks ensured at the market on Sunday, including 58 trucks of tomatoes, 40 of potatoes, and 38 of onions.

As a result of these administrative measures, the price of onions decreased from Rs80 to Rs75, green chillies from Rs110 to Rs100, cauliflower from Rs35 to Rs30, and capsicum from Rs80 to Rs70 per kg. Similarly, prices of all major fruits, including bananas, melons, watermelons, and dates, also witnessed a decline.

In his statement here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz, said, "This clear reduction in prices is the fruit of the public-friendly policies and the round-the-clock hard work of our team."

He stated that the goal is not just to control prices but to genuinely reduce the burden on the public's pockets by bringing them down.Meanwhile, in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister of Maryam Nawaz of making Lahore a modern and developed city into reality, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ijaz, conducted a detailed visit to Tehsil Raiwind and reviewed the progress of ongoing development schemes under the Lahore Development Program (LDP).

He inspected the ongoing projects of LDP Phase 2 in the streets along ShamkeBhattiyan Road.Assistant commissioner gave him a detailed briefing on the completion of the projects and the measures taken to ensure quality and transparency.

The minister strictly directed the officials that all development projects must be completed within the stipulated timeline with the highest level of quality and 100pc transparency."There will be no compromise on the timeline, quality, and transparency of the projects," he stated.

The deputy commissioner said that serious legal action be taken against elements who damage constructed streets and public property and also instructed to ensure all necessary safety measures during construction work.
