LAHORE: Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan has directed the Deputy Commissioners that the second phaseof Lahore Development Programme (LDP)should be completed as per the deadline.
Commissioner Lahore said the development works in every tehsil must be completed according to the timelines and deadlines. She said that in the second phase, Wasa and MCL work is underway in 8,780 streets.So far 4,741 streets have been completed while the work is underway in the remaining streets.
Commissioner Lahore Marryam Khan shared this information while chairing a divisional meeting of Deputy Commissioners of all four districts of Lahore Division on Monday. The first and second phases of the Lahore Development Programme were reviewed in detail during the meeting.Commissioner Lahore also reviewed the performance indicators and fuel stock. In the meeting, Commissioner Lahore was informed that the work of Wasa and MCL has been completedin the first phase of the Lahore Development Plan.
Commissioner Lahore said that the districts should check the fuel stock and delivery and supply data on a daily basis. The districts must submit suggestions and ideas to increase their capacity. The Commissioner Lahore further said that according to the vision of the CM Punjab, revenue and municipal service delivery are of equal importance. Deputy Commissioners should formulate a coordinated action plan for the agencies and authorities coming atthe district level.
APP adds: Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner M Ali Ijaz visited Tehsil Raiwind to review progress on development schemes under the Lahore Development Program (LDP), directing officials to ensure timely completion with quality and transparency.
During the visit, the DC inspected ongoing LDP Phase-II projects in streets along ShamkeBhattiyan Road.He was accompanied by the Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, Assistant Commissioner Raiwind, and representatives of Wasa, LWMC, NESPAK and other departments.
The Assistant Commissioner Raiwind briefed him on progress and measures taken to maintain quality and transparency in execution of the projects. DC Ali Ijaz directed that all development works be completed within stipulated timelines in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, stressing that no compromise would be made on quality and transparency. He also ordered strict legal action against elements damaging newly constructed streets and public property, and instructed officials to ensure safety measures during construction activities.
The DC said that public funds were a national trust and their transparent and efficient utilization was the foremost responsibility of the administration, adding that efforts to develop Lahore into a modern city would continue at full pace.
