LAHORE:Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Lahore Emir Ziauddin Ansari has condemned the policy of placing additional burden on public in the name of austerity amid rising inflation.

Expressing concern over the current economic and energy crisis, he said shifting the entire burden onto citizens in difficult times is unacceptable. He demanded the govt end privileges such as free electricity and fuel. He called for a ban on the use of vehicles above 1300cc in govt institutions and urged the adoption of smaller vehicles to reduce unnecessary strain on the national exchequer. He expressed these views while addressing various gatherings here on Sunday.
