Three motorcycle thieves arrested

LAHORE : Baghbanpura police have arrested three members of a motorcycle theft gang and recovered stolen vehicles, weapons and tools used in the crimes.

The arrested suspects were identified as Wajid — the alleged ringleader — along with his accomplices Usman and Tahir. Police said three stolen motorcycles, a mobile phone, master keys, two pistols and ammunition were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to stealing motorcycles from illegal parking spots, bazaars and residential streets, particularly targeting vehicles parked without proper locks.

Officials added that the recovered motorcycles were wanted in multiple cases registered at different police stations. Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation is under way to uncover the full extent of the gang’s activities and identify any additional accomplices. Police urged citizens to take precautionary measures, including securing their motorcycles properly, to prevent such theft incidents.

Ringleader of thieves held

Badami Bagh police have arrested the ringleader of a group involved in stealing mobile phones after entering homes.

The suspect, identified as Haider, was apprehended with the help of CCTV footage which showed him entering houses and committing theft.

The arrest was carried out by a police team led by Sub-Inspector Adnan Gujjar, who tracked down the accused using surveillance footage and caught him red-handed, police said.

Officials added that four expensive mobile phones of different brands were recovered from the suspect’s possession.

The accused has been handed over to the investigation wing for further interrogation, and efforts are under way to trace any accomplices and recover additional stolen items.

SP City Bilal Ahmad also commended SHO Badami Bagh Ahsan Iqbal and his team for their effective action in apprehending the suspect.

Fire breaks out at scrap yard

A fire broke out at a scrap yard in the DHA Rahbar area along Defence Road prompting a response from emergency services.

Rescue teams and fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving the alert. Firefighters launched an operation to on the blaze, which had erupted within the scrap material stored at the site. Officials said the fire was later brought under control after sustained by rescue personnel.

No casualties or injuries were immediately reported. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained, and authorities said further assessment would be carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
