ISLAMABAD: Pakistan football team players have expressed confidence ahead of their important clash against Myanmar in the Asian Cup qualifying round, saying the side is fully prepared to deliver an improved performance.

Midfielder Mohibullah said the team has been training intensively for several days and is determined to perform better than in previous matches. He noted that both the abilities and fitness levels of the players are improving steadily with each training camp.

“The qualifiers have given Pakistan a valuable opportunity to face strong opposition, which is vital for the team’s development,” he said. However, he also termed playing in empty stadiums as a challenge.

“It is always difficult without crowd support, but we still request fans to stand behind the team even if they are not present at the stadium,” he added.

Mohibullah highlighted that most of the players have been playing together for a long time, which has strengthened coordination within the squad. He also praised the team management for creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere, making it easier for new players to settle in.

Meanwhile, defender Waqar Baloch lauded head coach Solano, crediting him for building an excellent team environment.

He pointed out that local players have been given preference over overseas Pakistanis for the Myanmar match, providing them a chance to prove their abilities.

Waqar said the team’s fitness level is excellent but cautioned against underestimating Myanmar.

“They are a strong side and have been preparing well. Pakistan played well in the last match against them and we are hopeful of securing another victory,” he said.
