Man commits suicide after killing son, injuring wife, daughter

LAHORE:In Defence Phase III, a man allegedly shot dead his son, injured his wife and daughter, and then took his own life following a domestic dispute.

According to Edhi spokesperson, the suspect, identified as 42-year old Sarfraz, opened fire on his family, resulting in the death of his 18-year old son Abdullah on the spot, while his wife Shehnaz, 38, and 17-year old daughter Fatima were injured. After the incident, the suspect shot himself. Police and investigation teams reached the scene, collected evidence and shifted the bodies to morgue while the injured were moved to hospital.

Three imposters held

Misri Shah Police arrested three individuals impersonating police officers while roaming in a vehicle fitted with a blue light. According to a spokesperson, during checking, the suspects—identified as Danish, Daniyal, and Abdul Rasheed—claimed to be police officials but failed to provide identification. Upon search, police recovered a rifle, ammunition, valuable watches, and mobile phones from their possession. A case was registered.

11 held for gambling

Qila Gujjar Singh Police arrested 11 individuals involved in gambling during a crackdown. The suspects, including Shahid, Fawad, Naeem, Sohail Usman, Kamran, Shehzad, Zeeshan, Tariq Aamir, and Siddiq, were arrested from National Town, Egerton Road, while gambling. Police recovered gambling tools and over Rs200,000 in cash.

Meanwhile, Raiwind Bypass Chowki Police arrested a suspect identified as Yasir for kite flying and recovered 70 kites and string worth thousands of rupees. According to a spokesperson, the crackdown against kite flying is ongoing, and a case was registered against the accused.
