ISLAMABAD: Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Qamar-uz-Zaman has taken a major step to reduce transport expenses, promote transparency and implement austerity policy by issuing new SOPs for the use of official vehicles.
In light of Prime Minister’s directives, 14 government vehicles being used for non-operational duties have been immediately grounded.
Officers concerned have been instructed to return the vehicles under their use to ETPB headquarters parking area and hand over their fleet cards to transport branch without delay. The vehicles withdrawn until further orders were under the use of following officers:
Deputy Secretary Admin Shahid Bashir, XEN Bilal Ahmad, Deputy Secretary (General) Ali Asghar, Protocol Duty, Computer Programmer Shabana Afreen, Deputy Secretary Legal Saeed Awan, Assistant Engineer Naveed Anjum, PS to Chairman M Junaid, Deputy Secretary Land Akram Joiya, Deputy Secretary Property Munir Ahmad, Assistant Engineer Asghar Younis, Director Legal Samira Shahzadi, and two vehicles under general duty.
Under the SOPs issued by Secretary ETPB Farid Iqbal, use of official vehicles during holidays has been completely prohibited. Official vehicles may only be used within the limits of respective city, while for private use outside the city, prior approval from chairman will be required along with payment at rate of Rs7.5 per kilometre.
